Flying high….

It has been a while since I posted! We have had some friends visiting from Canada and have been off exploring Costa Rica together, so have had no time to post, but here I am back 🙂
We have been waiting for these particular friends to arrive to do some of the tourist things around here, so we knew it was going to be an action packed time!
We hired a car, because we knew we would be traveling about and with limited time we wanted to make the most of it. Ohhh so different and decadent to have a car!!!! 🙂 Rich bused down the mountain at 0530 to hire one in Puntarenas and drove it back home, then drove down again to meet our friends flight into San Jose, around 0700.
It was so good to see them, we miss them a lot! We all lived in Manitoba at one point and that was where we all met. The kids have known each other since they we 3 and when they get back together it is like they have never been apart 🙂

We had a couple of days here before we headed off. We hit one of the reserves, ( Bosque Eterno de los Ninos), with other friends from here…

Among other things, we saw monkeys and the communal movement of caterpillars which fascinated the kids. Apparently they do this to move faster, it looks so bizarre…

After, we called into the milk factory for ice cream, lunch and a play at the CASEM. Luca’s mandatory culvert “swim” on the way home is a must when we are over that side of town too. You don’t want to think too much about that water and the run off etc. Luca and Pica have played in there lots with no untoward results as yet 🙂

We got home and relaxed, as knew the following day was going to be even busier….

Early the next morning we headed off to do some zip lining, we had to be there before 8am and we were all very excited!!!!! SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!! My photos don’t do the height and views justice but it was truly incredible….

We even did the Tarzan jump at the end, I was in so much shock after I jumped, that I did not get a photo of any of us jumping, but here it is, yep you just jump off that platform, still cannot believe the kids did this!!!!

Still on a bit of a buzz we went for coffee, food and then off to the ficus tree for a climb…

Pica came too, her last big walk before we headed off. She stayed at home with Greyvin.

After a meal were all in bed early….

The next morning we were picked up at 0800 and taken to horses, where we would begin our next adventure. Rich drove the car to La Fortuna, the rest of us rode and then took a boat across the volcanic lake to meet Rich in the town center.
This journey in the next post, coffee time…..:)
