Signs of Spring…

Blue skies, roses beginning to spring back to life, and being able to sit out on the deck in socks are all signs the weather is turning. Also, when Secret starts lying out like this, soaking up the rays, it is a sure sign, (winter weight is showing ever so slightly) 🌞

The Magnolia and Kowhai putting on a stunning display this year

Photos from our daily walks, a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us right out our backdoor, I am really appreciating getting home early enough these days to get out in the evenings…

The days start beautifully…

however, the end of day still requiring a roaring fire, Vida and Pica not unhappy about this at all.

It is ridiculous how happy being able to dry laundry outside makes me, but it does 🙂

Lots of little earthquakes happening throughout NZ over the last month. I was at work the other evening and we experienced 2 of them, they are disconcerting for sure!

Luca has just finished mock exams, another week and it is the end of the third term. Yikes!

Over the holidays he and Jules are off to Arrowtown for a wee break, he is also doing a Customer Service and Bartending course, (will help him when looking for part-time and holiday work while at university), more driving lessons and of course study for the national NCEA exams. A busy couple of weeks and they will disappear in a flash as usual.

It was Father’s Day in NZ recently and Luca made him breakfast in bed while he did the crossword – delicious!

On the food topic, he and Jules came home from school in a baking mood the other day…

and the next morning Luca got up and cooked a very fine English breakfast indeed. Auntie Jen would love that the apron she sent him 10 years ago is still in use ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I gather wildflowers on my walks and fill the house with them, bringing some of that wild joy inside, while we eagerly anticipate the long warm days ahead. The clocks turn back next weekend…wahoo!
