Blue Skies…

We are having some amazing days; the one above reached 26 degrees! The sky was so blue!!
Definitely a hammock type of day!

The vege garden is already flourishing, seems earlier this year, or maybe I am more organised than usual…..

I am expecting a good asparagus crop this year, was thrilled when I saw this peeking through…

The fruit trees appear to be gearing up for a good season as well. I have not seen this pear tree, so blossom loaded previously. The chooks love the petals that have fallen to the ground.

Meals and coffee have started on the deck again. The plants on the deck now really established and achieving the look and feel I was going for when first starting to plan this area. It has taken a few years, but so worth it ❤

The fire pit area too has really established itself, this rhododendron flowers like this twice a year, it is stunning!

I am giving the top paddock a break and have put the sheep in the newly formed side paddock. Here they are a couple of days before moving them. They are very routine animals and very content in this set up but it is good to rest pasture for a bit. As long as they get their much-loved barley, they are happy.
The ponies in the below photo are in their barn, (if you look closely, you can see their white stripes inside it). They hate it if their access to their barn is cut off! We hear all about it until the issue is resolved. They came from an environment without shelter, and are definitely not interested in being parted from this one 😊

I took the below photo a couple of evenings ago. Was a warm lovely end to the day, such a peaceful scene, it brings me joy just watching it. There are the sheep, wondering if I will bring over more barely for them, ever hopeful 🙂

Rich has decided the wood fence looks so great, (he’s right!), that he is doing the rest of our boundary fence as wood rail. It is looking incredible, so much work though! Will space it out over the next year and do portions at a time. I found a bulk number of secondhand pavers, (84), for $90 on Trademe and snapped them up, we are using them for bordering our gravelled area and as steppingstones.
It always feels really nice when we get to this stage in our property transformations. The finishing touches really bring things together and the light at the end of the tunnel (which does occasionally turn off during these journeys 😉) is shining brightly 💡
Right now, though, projects are being left, and Rich and I are heading out for a hike, too lovely a day not too!
more later xx
