Signs of Spring…

My flower garden has really come into its own after years of building and nurturing, it is so pretty 🦋

The last of the gravel has been put in, resolving the mud situation. Feeling pretty happy about that!
The girls have decided the vacant pig house is a great place to nest and are laying up a storm! The bee activity has heightened as well, not seen them this busy, it bodes well for harvesting time!

Today is wet, but the week has been gorgeous, and all are happy and content on the farm. Especially Secret who really knows the meaning of relaxing. This was the view from the bathroom window as I got ready for work, I have to say I really wanted to join her!!!!!

I have heard from friends in Manitoba and Nova Scotia over the last couple of weeks. This was our home in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. It was another labour of love rejuvenating that home, (the family before us were a large family of raccoons and not thrilled at being evicted!!!). I am so happy to see that they have kept it how we left it. We have many, many good memories from our time in River Cottage.

This is Doris with her faithful dog Breigh. Doris is one of my favourite humans ever! She died last year at 97, and Breigh at 18, has just joined her. Doris made clothes for Luca when he was born and was an ongoing support during those early years. We kept in touch even when leaving Manitoba, she was an amazing person, I miss her cards and letters, she inspires me still and I keep little reminders of her about. ❤

The local elections are on! Ted and Luca were home for dinner last night and we had some robust political conversations over the dinner table, I love it! Luca is taking politics next year; we are interested to see how that goes for him. I am so impressed with how this generation is so engaged and informed with what is going in the world. Around 30% of my Dunedin clinic patients are students, they give me hope with their passion and informed conversations. I have seen some of them right through their degrees now and encourage them all to keep engaging. Be like Martha!!!!!!!!!!

In a couple of days, it is our 19th Wedding Anniversary! Wow time flies by!!!! This is my favourite photo of us from this year. Rich is literally my dream maker; I feel so privileged to share this life with him. We are heading out to the movies and dinner tonight. Happy Anniversary baby 💖….

Love you xxx
