Remembering and celebrating….

This is the view from our kitchen window, at the end you can see a rose beginning to bloom…

Now called, Jen’s Rose, it was given to us in her memory when she died. It is Jen’s birthday in a few days, it has reliably burst into flower at this time of the year since we got it. It makes me smile and think of Jen every time I see it, celebrating her life and all she brought to this world. She is deeply missed.

Luca’s celebrated his16th this month! Our gorgeous boy has spent the week celebrating with us and his friends. Unfortunately the camping got postponed for a couple of reasons, but a friend came to the rescue by offering up their place for the group, for the weekend, so lovely of them!

My greatest wish for him is to continue to find joy in life and the in simple moments, love and be loved unconditionally, and have lots and lots of adventures.

Rich as usual has created a work of art, with an amazing shelter for the sheep, they seem very satisfied with their life :).

They are all almost done with their shedding, but all look like they have mohawks currently πŸ™‚

This month has brought very hot temps, unusual for this time of year. My succulents have sprung into life…

the broccoli too, little miracle trees that they are …

I have had a bit of a health blip recently and ended up in hospital. I am a bit rundown, an infection got hold and will not let go easily, so I am off work for a while to shake it off. I don’t do sick well, it has thrown me a bit and also given me pause for thought about what 2025 will look like for me work wise. My work life balance has been out of whack for a while and I need to rectify that going forward. This is easier said than done for me, but I have had the wake up call…

With this in mind we are taking a long holiday and heading north! When we arrived in NZ we flew into Auckland and explored everything south of there. I spent the majority of my childhood in Northland, it is time to show my boys the places of my past and for them to have seen all of NZ (top to tip), before Luca leaves home πŸ™‚

We are staying in Tutukaka and Mangonui and exploring from these two places. I am expecting things to have changed a lot, I hope I can still find my way! We are all excited to be heading off on another adventure together….

off to the “winterless north” we go – wahoo!! πŸ™‚
