Family….

Winter is here and so far it has been kind, for the most part sunny and blue. We are even past the shortest day, daylight hours are on the up! 🙂 There has been the odd frost, does not stop the chooks enjoying what the orchard has to offer. We are still getting eggs, but fewer now it is winter.

On those days that are a bit miserable we all hunker down, wait for it to pass….

and then hit the trail again 🙂

We had spent so long not being around people, that we thought last weekend it would be nice to go the the Botanical Gardens, we all enjoy a day there. There are free bags of grain to feed the birds, Luca’s favorite part of the day…

Of course he found the lame duck, (only has one leg), and spent ages making sure she got her fair share of food.

Next to the gardens is Otago University , it is in the middle of Dunedin, it really is beautiful architecturally. I was there yesterday and realized how easy it is to not to really see or appreciate it when you live here . I snapped this photo as I walked through….

The history of here has been brought to my attention lately for various reasons. This photo of Port Chalmers shows our property (up and left of the Church). Most of those buildings in town are still standing, a big effort is being made to look after the heritage buildings.

The same church taken this week, walking home from the library…

This month was my birthday and I came home to this, how lucky am I !

Rich made his famous pizza and there was even cake!

Was a perfect ending to my day, so grateful !

I was sent this, (you know who you are 🙂 ) , perfectly sums it up!!!
