Wintertime….

It is a wet, windy morning here, still dark outside, the fire is roaring and the boys and Pica still sound asleep, our boys above are currently crowing in the new day. They have really mastered it now ๐Ÿ™‚

We have been making the most of the levels dropping and exploring parts we have not see before. Across the other side of the peninsular is a reserve that we have been meaning to get to. It was a bit of a journey to get there but well worth it. Everything from beaches to caves to wildlife, it was a really lovely day, so pleased we went.

The kids are all so happy to be getting back to normal and hang out . These two are like two peas in a pod, their interests are pretty identical, right down to the Harry Potter jackets they both wear ๐Ÿ™‚

We have been having some lovely blue, sunny days and so got the bikes out and hit the trail again, it had been a while!

The days are getting shorter down here fast, it is dark when I leave in the mornings and dark when I get home, another few days and they will start stretching out again. On the weekends these are pretty common morning scenes as the day is eased into ๐Ÿ™‚

Even Vida has taken to enjoying more indoor entertainment ๐Ÿ™‚

Seeing the photos of Luca with Pica reminds me how lucky Luca has been to have a dog constantly in his life and how important that bond is to him. Che was our dog before Pica, we lost him to Lyme disease in Nova Scotia. He was Luca’s protector for his early years. Pica and Luca are mates, they rough and tumble together, argue over pieces of wood and sleep together. Che and Luca’s relationship was different, Che more of a guardian, always close by watching, but kinda aloof , Luca adored him. He often comes up in conversation and tears are still shed missing him.

The world feels so off kilter at the moment, so much going on, each day we wake and wonder what has happened while we slept. Our thoughts are with our friends and family who are being particularly affected by what is currently going on. Technology keeps us in touch, but it is not the same as being physically close. Much love to you all, you know who you are…..
