He did it!!!

Today we got a call from the school, there had been a fire! Later in the day to be called, “the chicken nugget fire!”, so nothings serious. However it is pouring here and all the kids got soaked in the evacuation, hence they were sent home before lunch. Not one to lose such an opportunity, I said well today is the day then, Luca can pack his suitcase!!

As we had previously sold all the furniture in his room but the bed ,(which belongs to the house), all his clothes, toys and books etc were spread all over his room. It was frankly a mess, but I did it deliberately to give Luca a chance to survey and start to sort in his mind want he wanted to take 🙂

He came home, had lunch, and we got started…..

There were 2 moments where Luca said “I am not going without those!”, and they were BOTH about books, Calvin and Hobbs, and his Almanac’s ( he gets one each year and then spends a year going over it!). Other than that he was practical, determined, definite and he did it!

Here is his luggage, black one holds his most precious things, and red one clothes (he can use that one as carry on):

We are proud of him and know he made difficult sacrifices and compromises!
