Apples and Pears galore….

Midsummer brings with it happy, content, tubby animals and fruit, lots of fruit!

Ahh Pica has really mastered the napping technique well. She has 3 beds like the above that she goes between during the day following the sun and desired outlook.

After returning from our travels the weather was great for a while as the above photos portray, then the whole country descended into chaos over the last week or so, with the north getting the worst of it currently.

Torrential weather bringing massive landslides has seen deaths and continued states of emergency with still people missing and rescues in progress.

So far, we are doing OK just very very wet!!!

I came home late last night, (had been in my Oamaru clinic), to find the kids and Rich doing a jigsaw and drinking cup of soup around the kitchen table.

It was a very 1980’s scene, love it so much ❤️

I actually started the fire last night and today the heat pump on! Kids still fast asleep, can’t say I blame them, I went out to sort the animals this morning made sure their shelters and food supply all good, came back in and have hunkered down.

The kids go back to school end of next week, typically in NZ the kids go back to school and the weather comes right, let’s hope this is the case!

Waitangi weekend is in 2 weeks; we have decided to make the most of. Instead of driving up to collect the piglets in Canterbury and coming back on the same day, we will go on, stay in Christchurch, let Luca catch up with his friends and stay on for the long weekend. One of our previous house sitters keen to come stay here, so it is a win win 🙂

In the meantime, we remain hopeful this weather settles down!!!!!!!!
