Easter in our bubble….

The boys finished the trail and it is awesome, check out the views! That is Port Chalmers village below, looking across to the harbor cone (the volcano we climbed this time last year). The trail keeps us all fit, and saves my sanity after long days of work.

While they were working on it and I went up to find them after work, Luca would leave little crosses, so I would know which way they were working.

Luca has named it “The Unexpected Trail”

It is Easter and we have been really lucky with the weather, making the most of being at home by doing things that we did not think we would get to until next year. Cutting back overgrown places to reveal areas we have big plans for ….

The chooks making the most of the cut back and dive in after every clearing

Things like chard, spinach and arugula grow year round here it seems, we are in plentiful supply, enough to share with the chooks for added iron into their diet

Luca and his mates have been catching up regularly using technology or the old fashioned letter drop in the mailbox. The letters between each other are hilarious 🙂

Talking to Otis via messenger…

His teacher has set up a virtual classroom online and the kids all meet up on there which is good, we have been warmed that going back to school is a while off, even when lock down lowers.

Down time means the board games come out…

Rich is teaching Luca chess, check out that concentration!

Rich and Luca also making plans for a tree house in one of our big old pine trees, it is an awesome place for one I have to say

The views from it are pretty incredible

Luca getting more interested in helping with food prep, something we encourage a lot!!

He made us some “Luca Special” sandwiches a few days ago, they were pretty darn good have to say!
Helping with supper….

Still time for plenty of downtime and relaxing

The current thing Rich and Luca have got back into is Duolingo, an app that teaches languages, they used it in Costa Rica and have picked it back up again for Spanish. Luca often says he will go back to Costa Rica one day, so wants to keep up with the language.

Life seems to have has settled into a new “norm” and although Rich and I anxious about what the future holds, as I am sure we all are, we try to focus on the now and what we can do at this time. This popped up on my feed and with the 3 of us being such big Tolkien fans it seems fitting ….

Hope you are all having a safe and happy Easter , from our home to yours xxx
